The Choral Music Department at Hopewell Valley Central High School strives to provide a comprehensive choral experience for all interested singers regardless of prior experience. The Hopewell Choirs are a proud piece of the districts K-12 music program, which is consistently named to the American Music Conference list of the Best 100 Communities for Music Education in the nation.  

 

Hopewell's choir students have been fortunate to work with some of the most widely recognized names in the choral music field including Anton Armstrong, Andre Thomas, Stephen Hatfield, and Jim Papoulis.  In June of 2014, the choirs enjoyed a workshop with choral composer Ola Gjeilo. 

 

Hopewell Valley High School choirs travel frequently, having made recent appearances in Maryland, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, and New York.  In 2013, the choral department traveled to Chicago for the Windy City Classic Music Invitational, where the three performing choirs each earned first place in the respective divisions. In February 2013, the select mixed-ensemble Chamber Singers performed by invitation at the NJ-NAfME Convention. Chamber Singers was awarded Grand Champion at both the 2014 and 2015 Roxbury Choral Invitationals.
